Gardening Tip

Here are new pictures of our boy playing in an ottoman that is headed for the dumpster.  One of the kitties saw fit to sharpen her claws on the corners so now it is gone.

While we were in Shreveport last month, I went over to see my niece's new garden home that she bought last year.  I told her she needed to call Southern Living.  Her yard and flowers were gorgeous even so early in the spring.  Her secret is Spray n' Grow only sold online.  It is organic and undoubtedly something very good.  I had to order it and my kit arrived yesterday and I sprayed everything today.  I will take some pictures tomorrow and then show you in a week.  You can use it once a week and in fact that is preferable.  I want to see what it does here in Oklahoma where the wind is oft times  an enemy.

Have a wonderful Thursday!!

Under the Weather

Please don't give up on me lovely bloggers.  I am still under the weather, coughing off and on all night and in general this allergitis is getting me down.  Debra had to take our boy to the pediatrician this am.  He coughed all night too and won't eat.  Maybe another good rain will help us both.  I know the whole south is suffering with allergy problems.  Tomorrow will be a better day, I just know it.

In the meantime, have a great Monday!

Back Yard

Still battleing the bug here.  Lots of pollen = lots of hacking, especially at night.  I started on the guest bedroom and then gave up, just didn't feel like messing with it.  I did walk out into the back yard a few minutes ago and saw a few, rather two buds.

The above is the first rose to bloom and another by it about ready.  This is a pink knockout rose and if you haven't tried the knockout, give them a try.  They have profuse blooming all summer and are very disease resistent.

This is the first red knockout that opened yesterday.

These are Ray's blackberry bushes.  He is hoping to get a cobbler out of these.  They have blooms now so, he may have a cobbler, if not enough, maybe a turnover!!

This is the red knockout rose.

This is the pick knockout rose.  I recently found a yellow and Ray planted it last weekend for me.  I think it will be awhile before there are any blooms.

This is our patio.  I haven't got around to getting this done.  I have planted a couple of patio  tomato plants.  I have had really good luck with them the last couple of years.  As you can see,our grass is just beginning to turn green.  There are still lots of dead spots.

This is a columbine that I got last week at Lowes,  I love the color.  I'll show these  things again when they really begin to bloom and the pollen settles down so, I can get out  there comfortably.
The rest of the green plants are herbs, parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.

Have a great day!

What a Mess!

How many of you have a closet that you just don't want to think about?  Well, that is our guest room closet.  We just dump everything in there that we don't know what to do with.  I decided to tackle it but, it wasn't one of my better ideas after having allergy issues for the last week.  Couldn't be house dust could it, oh no!  Anyway, I drug everything out of the closet and here are a few pictures.  Do you see anything you might want?  It's up for grabs.

I have already thrown away one large black garbage bag full of things out of this closet.  There are things that I find so hard to do away with.  One, a glorious green purse.  I haven't really ever used it, but I love it.  How can I throw that away. !!!

Tomorrow, I will try to finish it up and show after pictures.

Bombing

15 years ago today, tragedy struck Oklahoma City and our nation.

This is the fence where visitors have hung personal items to honor the dead.  There is
everything you can imagine hanging here.

This is a  beautiful memorial.  If you ever have  a chance, please go and visit.  I have been there many many times, and it never fails to bring tears to my eyes.  This truly is an example of man's inhumanity to man.  The city/state/nation have done a remarkable job on the museum.  There is a small admission fee but, it is well worth it.  It is a unique experience and one you will never forget.
 Peace and God Bless!

Easter pics

Our third day of steady rain, here in the heartland.  I know the farmers and the water  table are loving it, but it is getting a little boring now.  I guess we shouldn't complain until it gets to 40 days, then we'll talk boring.

Here are new pictures of our precious boy.  He loved Easter, well let's say, he loved the candy and toys in his basket.

I just love these with him standing in front of the Easter lilies.  Have a great rest of the weekend!

More feverish rambling

Happy Friday, I can remember in those days when hubs and I both worked, it seems like we just existed from Monday til Friday and our  real life was Saturday and Sunday. How did I get off on that. Must be the fever.

Our household has been  inundated with something. At first, we thought it was allergies since, the pollen count here is off the charts. Then all of us got this nagging cough, runny nose and overall just feeling lousy. Have I whined enuf yet? Oh wait, I can whine more, hubs coughs all night, up and down, I can' t  sleep when---------- oh well, that's enough of that.

I have recent purchases to show you but that will have to wait for a better day. We have had rain all day today and, it is supposed to continue thru the weekend. We had all planned to go to the OU Spring Game tomorrow, however, it is supposed to be rainy. Don't think this hacking, snotting family needs to be sitting in the rain. What do you think? Please forgive me for being so graphic but, my fever made me do it.

I promise I will try to do better. Hope you all have a sunny, warm, glorius weekend and if not that, just a fun one.!

Have a super spring weekend one and all!!!

Thankful Thursday

These are a few of the things I am thankful for:
  • for my Lord and Savior
  • for a family who loves me and I love in return and all the fun times together
  • for these breezy nice days after a long cold winter
  • for roses just getting ready to bloom
  • for all these little birds singing and building new nests
  • for my home
  • for plenty to eat and clothes to wear
  • for new shoes when others have none
  • for friends, both old and new ones
  • for health, mine and my husbands, both of us in our 70's
  • for books and the ability to read
  • for my television with which I spend lots of time
  • for this computer, even though some days it drives me to distraction
Have a great day everyone and take a minute to remember what you are thankful for today.

Our Room

As you know, we live with our daughter and family. We have our own space upstairs. It's quite large with its own bath. I love seeing where you bloggers live so here goes, a few pictures of where we live.

This is my husbands wardrobe and here's Mr. Busybody checking it out.

Mr. Busybody playing with a comforter, a tent will probaby quickly follow!

This was a gift, a prayer shawl from the middle east but, I can't remember where.  It's really beautiful.

And yes, if you must know, this basket is full of books that I want to read.  I also have a kindle, however, I have been reading blogs lately and everything is running over.
Love the toothpick.

Sorry for the flash in the first picture.  This may be one of my favorite projects.  I t  was one of my first counted cross stitch projects.  I just love the little girls with there ribbon kites.  I really enjoyed working on this one.  I haven't cross stitched since Quinn was born.  Counting little x's and needles is just not too feasible with a little one around.
Still have the other side of the room to show so, more later.

Hope you have a fantastic Wednesday!
