Hi bloggin friends:
We are off tomorrow for a little trip. Flying to Columbus, Ohio and then going on to Cincinnati for the OU versus Cincinnati football game on Saturday. We are going to take a side trip and go to Kentucky, Hub's hometown, and visit his brother who still lives in the house in which they grew up. Since we are renting a car, we'll be doing quite a bit of driving and I hope to get lots of pictures. We'll be gone about 10 days so doubt that I do any bloggin.
In the meantime, have a great fall, see you when we get back!

Winston
I know some of you wonder what happened to our remodeling project. Well, the living room, dining room, D and R's bedroom, the entry hall are finished. The guest room is 2/3 finished and then R has been inundated at work so progress has slowed. The mattress and box springs from that room are leaning against the stairs. Winston has decided that is his bed, so he sleeps up there all day.
Big guy is snoozing away.

My Rant
When I first started blogging back in February, I followed almost every blog I came upon. In no time my reading list was completely out of control. If I didn't read everyday, all day I would just get so far behind. Something had to be done. I had also noticed that several of the blogs I was reading choose to show magazines pictures and articles of things they liked rather than pictures of their homes. I don't mean this in a nasty way at all and hope you won't take it as such, but if I wanted to see magazine pictures, I would buy the magazine.
I started this blog as a way to just write what I thought about things, mainly for my children, and whom, or is it whoever, might be interested. And, I also wanted to see what the rest of you were doing as far as decorating, crafts and whatever. I have learned so much from alot of you, even at my "tender age", I still like to learn new things. In February, I didn't know what a cloche was and now I have several and plan to enter the cloche party tomorrow.
A day or so ago, BJ at Sweet Nothings, gave us some tips on how to speed up our blog situation. Things that would help us move faster and helpful things to delete. So, I began some house cleaning. I went through all of my blog reader and I eliminated some blogs that I just don't have time to read. I also deleted lots of my widgets which I learned just slow you down. I hope that I have not offended anyone in any of these endeavors. That was not my intention at all.
Have a great week everyone!

Meet Me Monday
Questions:
1. What is your favorite pasta dish?
I enjoy most pasta dishes, however, I guess my favorite is Carbonara.
2. What is the last thing you do before going to bed?
Take all my medication, which, at this point is way more than I wish I had to take.
3. How many nights a week do you go out to eat?
We don't go out to eat on a regular basis. We have never been much on going out, and save it for special occasions mostly. I love to cook and would rather cook than go out most times.
4. Are you an avid book reader?
Oh my gosh, I think the word is rabid, instead of avid. I usually have several books going at once. One that I enjoy and want to read slowly to savor and one that I can read a page or two and it makes me sleepy, etc., etc. My motto is "so many books, so little time." I also got a Kindle last year from our son for my birthday so, that has even added to the book situation.
5. Would you rather have x-ray vision or bionic hearing?
No question, bionic hearing. I have had hearing issues all my life, surgery when I was 18 and continued issues. My children think I am really deaf. I have trouble hearing my granddaughters soft voices and one that speaks so fast no one understands. I am sure hearing help is in my immediate, if not sooner, ha! future.

Have a great week everyone. Thanks for stopping by.

Back again
I've been out of pocket, so to speak, for the last few days. Thursday was my birthday. We all planned to go out to eat, but I opted to stay home and watch the Saints game, so we did. We had mexican food, my favorite,
good margaritas
and another favorite of mine, a big chocolate birthday cake!
You'll notice this cake wasn't big enuf, however, to get all the candles on, ha!
Then we all sat back and watched this transpire!
Saints beat Green Bay 14 - 9
Yesterday, was tailgating in Norman and seeing our Sooners take on the Florida State Seminoles. OU Won 47 - 17.
Nothing big planned for this week. Hope you all have a good one!

Weekend
We had quite a nice weekend. Son came up from Shreveport and we had a fun time, lots of laughs, food and fellowship.
Of course, Saturday was tailgating day. It was OU's opener against "themselves", oh wait, that was Utah State. We won, but nothing about it was pretty. We'll take it though. Here are a few pictures I took. We moved our tailgating place this year, lots of shade and plenty of room to spread out.
Quinn is ready to head to Norman, along with several car fulls.
Here's our boy trying to knock a can out of a tree!
We had good food as always, hot wings, hot artichoke dip, southwestern chicken wraps, chips, nuts, tasty beverages, lemon cupcakes, etc. Never let it be said we don't have good food.
Son and his daughter, Danielle, a Senior at OU this year. Enjoying a tasty beverage.
Quinn's taking a break from knocking the can out of the tree.
Still trying to get the can out of the tree. This is a great way to keep 4 year olds entertained, some 40 year olds too.
Hubs is listening to pregame. Shortly after this we headed for the stadium.
It proved to be a long day. Got home around midnight, hot and exhausted, but our team won.
Not much activity around here the rest of the weekend. Lots of football watching. It is so good to have college football back. I don't care much for the pros except for our Saints and then Super Bowl time. Other than that I prefer College.
Next weekend we play Florida State and the funny part about that is that many years ago, Hubs went to Florida State, but he is a Sooner fan first. Not that he has alot of choice in the matter.
Hope all of you have a great week, and just remember tomorrow is already hump day for our short week!

Randomness
Not much new here. Have had a few showers but nothing great. We're to have a cool front tonight so, only in the eighties this weekend. Nice!
I filled the hummingbird feeder and lo and behold we now have quite a few hummers. I hung a red impatien basket near it and I think that is helping with the attraction too.
You may or you may not notice I changed my background theme and color. It only took me about half a day. I just don't get blogger. I thought I would never find out how to change my font and colors. Oh well, finally figured it out. I need to find a good header but I kinda like this template.
I'm off to do a little shopping. Have a great day!

I just love watching them. They have been dive bombing each other all morning.
