I certainly don't mean to be wishing my life away, not at my age anyway, but I am so ready for fall. Everyone who knows me knows that I am not a summertime person. I was born in Sept. and fall is my time of year. I love everything about it, the beautiful colors, the smell of pumpkin and cinnamon candles, the glorious changing leaves, and of course, fall and football is high on my list. You name it I love it. I don't even mind those fall rains so much, but nothing beats a crisp cool day in the south end zone in Norman OK and watching the Sooners whoop up on somebody.

Whew!
It is so hot and has been so hot lately, over 100 and climbing. I just dread going outside but must to give my plants a splash of water even if its only every other day. I hate getting into a hot car and waiting it seems forever before the ac kicks in. I don't know what to cook, everything seems heavy and hot. I just want salad and fruit.

House Update
In the throes of "redo" and gosh, is it hot. I painted second coats this morning on the bookcases by the fireplace and also the trim around the patio door. The trim around the door had been nicked so many times with dog crates and etc., it had to be sanded before I could paint and even with the ac on 70, I was sweating bullets. Not use to this manual labor.
This is what we ran into when painting above the fireplace. We had a new roof put on this spring and the roofers said it looked like there was rain damage around the chimney. Wha la, we found it today.
One more little thing to make us further behind. Guess it's better to find it now before it gets any worse.

Can you believe this little bittie fireplace mantle. We fuss every year at Christmas when we try to decorate it. So, Hubs is enlarging it about about double in space. At the width it is right now, I have double sided tape on my mantle clock and just pray that it stays anchored there with every ding of the clock.
Wish you all a happy week and pray it won't be too hot. I try to remember this is summer, but wow!

1. What is your favorite sandwich?
I love the chicken salad sandwiches at Panera Bread and there is a place in Shreveport called Fairfield Grocery that makes the best chicken salad.

Our granddaughter, Sarah, and husband Jon, who is in Irag are expecting triplets. We are so excited. We don't know the genders as yet but will find out soon. We do know there is a set of identicals and a single. Hubs and I had identical girls. Hub's Mother as well as mine, were both twins, so they do run in our family, however, this is the first for triplets.

Thursday Therapy
Yes, yes, it's Thursday Therapy
And I have a couple of shout outs,
Thanks so much for the girl trying to broadside me today when I had a green arrow to turn left, scared the b whatever out of me.
Thanks to the teenagers in the neighborhood who are still shooting fireworks after dark every night. Our golden retriever is terrified and has torn the gate of the dog yard completely out of the concrete wall.
Thanks to the weathermen who love to make us miss what few decent tv shows we have to watch in the summer, by broadcasting thunderstorms in Kansas and timbucktwo which aren't even in our viewing area. I know that this is tornado alley but I'm just saying!
Thanks to BP for finally getting the oil leak in the gulf capped today after some 84 days. Let's all pray it just holds and those poor souls in south Louisiana and the coast get their lives back.
In the meantime, I wish for all of you a great Friday and a fun filled weekend.
Once again, thanks so much for stopping by and if you leave a comment, thank you thank you.

What a Mess
I thought I would give you a little glance at why I haven't been blogging lately.
This is Debra and Ray's room, getting ready to move furniture and start painting. Then floors.
More of the rubble
This is the foyer before I began to paint. Yes, we have ordered a new light fixture. Don't think they even make these anymore.
This is in the dining room bay window area, 152 boxes of the Pergo for the floors.
I took this yesterday from our bedroom doorway upstairs. What an utter mess.
We plan on having all of the house painted and new floors by football season, if not by Christmas for sure.LOL
I can't wait until everything is finished and I will keep you posted with our progress.
