Debra works at one of those( big city twice a year) consignment sales here in the big city.  She sells "the boy's" clothes he has grown out of, and buys for him for the new season.  Last fall I decided to try something new so I started making hair bows.  For awhile I sold them on ebay and etsy, but didn't have alot of success, so she said they would probably do great at the consignment.  I have quite few ready to sell.  Here they are.

I think they are pretty cute and I really enjoy making them.
Last night was Oscar night, no surprises there, were there.  I was happy that Hurt Locker won for best director and best picture.  We watched it all, thought maybe it would be shorter this year, but no such luck, it went on and on.  Glad it's only once a year.

An Evening Out

Last night was our monthly night out. We have season tickets to the Big City Philharmonic concerts. We go out for dinner first and last night it was to Toby Keith's Bar and Grill which was packed. John Mayer was also in town for a concert which brought out the young folks. Our concert was Cinema night and they played music from Star Wars, Star Trek, ET, Lion King and lots more. It was really an enjoyable evening. ( As you may can tell, I am not a trekky. I don't really know how to spell it. I spelled it with a c before.) Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Kitties

Winston is in the bathroom open window, loving to watch the birds flit by. The patio door is opened a crack and Baby Girl is enjoying a breath of fresh air. Even the kitties are ready for Spring. It's in the 60's today for the first time since late fall. WhooHoo!

Busy Part II

Yesterday, I had errands to run and ended up at Hobby Lobby.  Here are just a few things I bought.
The main thing I went to get was flowers to make a new wreath for the front door.  While there I remembered a flower arrangement I had put in with the Goodwill donations and I could use the flowers in it and just get ribbon for a bow.  Here is the before

It took me about an hour and a half and this is the after.  Not bad I'm thinkin!!

Busy as a bee Part I

I was busy as a bee, spring is on it's way here in the heartland.  The temps have climbed  into the 50's.  I checked on flower beds and see tiny sprouts of green.  It was so yukky in February that I didn't get my rose bushes  pruned, so have got to get this done soon.  I certainly don't want to cut off new growth.

After looking at all of the gorgeous blogs and what you folks use to decorate with, I decided it was time to use some things in my china cabinet.  I have a beautiful collection of crystal pieces, some quite old ones and some rather new.  Years ago when we lived in W. Texas, I had an Irish boss and when he would go to Ireland for vacation every year, he would bring me Waterford pieces.  I have all of the Partridge in a pear tree plates and then my daughter in law and son started giving me the 12 matching Christmas ornaments.  Then when I had all of those, the little Waterford figures came out and I received all of  those.  I found a beautiful crystal bowl and I don't even remember where it came from.  I am going to put it on the table with easter eggs in it. My goal next week is to get in the attic and bring all those Easter containers down.  I never remember what I have up there.

My new cloche

This is my first attempt at a cloche.  The little bunny was given to me for a gift by our oldest granddaughter, Lauren,  when she was just a little thing.  I think it was a Mother's Day and now she is a mother.  Where do the years go.  She has grown into a beautiful girl and wonderful mother.
