Easy shrimp pasta

This is a recipe that I tried tonight and it got a thumb's up. It's fast and oh so easy.

1 lb. peeled shrimp (large)
1/2 stick unsalted butter
1 - 2 TBS of Cajun seasonings (I use Toni's)
1 - 2 cloves minced garlic
1/3 cup flour
1 1/2 - 2 cups of milk (I used part 1/2 and 1/2)
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
fresh parsley for top
1 lb. angel hair pasta

Melt butter in skillet, add shrimp and cook until pink (don't overcook) Remove shrimp from skillet. Add seasonings and flour to skillet, cook several minutes and then stir in milk whisking until smooth. Place shrimp back in skillet and cook another minute or so.
While you are doing above, cook angel hair according to package instructions. Drain, however, save a little pasta water to add to sauce if needed. You don't want the sauce too thick. Pour shrimp mixture over pasta, adding cheese and as much pasta water as needed to make a nice sauce. Mix well with tongs and sprinkle several TBS. of fresh chopped parsley over the top. Serve with a green salad and french bread. A nice glass of wine doesn't hurt either.

Son's House

Okay, let's try this again.  I'm game if you are.  We spent 10 days or so in Shreveport at our son's house and these are some pictures that I took.  Some are good and some not so much but his house is quite beautiful, although, much in transition with a recent break up after over 25 years.  I won't go into any details other than the fact that they simply grew apart.  We are all still friends, still visit, still love her.  In case you are worried, she has a lovely new patio home, and she is quite happy.  Rick remained in the big house and is making changes as time permits.
Here are a few pictures to let you see his house.

Isn't this gorgeous.  He bought this piece and the mirror recently for the entrance hall.  I just love it.  Reminds so much of New Orleans.

Sorry these are so dark, but it was not a good time of day to take pictures.

The three are of his home office/study.  A second mantle and fireplace.

Sun Room

Master Bath

This little shelf is a clock shelf that hubby made when he was into woodworking, etc.  Hasn't done anything new in quite a while.

Now we will venture outside.  You will see how palms, etc. were hard hit by the cold temps. in N. Louisiana.  Guess it hit all across the south this year.

That's our room on the upper left.

The pansys look pretty good for a hard winter.
This is our long haired dashund, Heidi.  She loves to walk the stones around the pool.  She will go the entire way around.
Heidi Girl!
Somehow out of all these photos, I didn't take one of the front of the house.  Will do that next time.

I just love this house.  It was a Southern Living house.  The original was built in Houston and we went there to see it before this one was built.  It has lots of unique features and I'll try to show you more next time.

What a Mess!

Last night I worked on a long post with lots of pictures.  It was getting late so I saved it now.  This morning I can't find it.  I went to help and tried several things that the forum suggested and nothing worked.  I am sick as it was an evenings work.  I now see why people leave blogger.
Have a nice weekend everyone!!

Our boy

Still having issues with my computer so, I'll see how things go.  These are pictures of this 3 year old that we live with.  Yes, he has on his Woody pj's again.  He loves them.

This last picture is after he had been helping Grandmama make cupcakes, only has a little chocolate on his face.

I found this scene in the bathroom this morning.  Guess he had to take off his boots to potty.

I thought this was so cute.  Wonder what was going on in  his little mind when he arranged this.

Have a great day!

Computer Fun

We had a lovely Easter, family, food, basketball. Yes, our OU women lost but they had a great year. My computer is royally messing up, don't know what happpened or what I did to it. Does it really need a reason to screw up, don't think so. It does it just to keep you on your toes, or is it off your --- and doing something constructive or destructive at best.
