Color Test

I saw this color personality test on another blog, and, of course, now can't remember where. Its fun and interesting. Give it a go and see what color you are. I think mine is pretty accurate.

you are mediumorchid
#BA55D3

Your dominant hues are red and blue. You're confident and like showing people new ideas. You play well with others and can be very influential if you want to be.

Your saturation level is medium - You're not the most decisive go-getter, but you can get a job done when it's required of you. You probably don't think the world can change for you and don't want to spend too much effort trying to force it.

Your outlook on life is brighter than most people's. You like the idea of influencing things for the better and find hope in situations where others might give up. You're not exactly a bouncy sunshine but things in your world generally look up.

Do you think it means I'm this color?

Or, am I more like this color?

16 Years Ago Today

Where were you and what were you doing 16 years ago this morning? We were living in Shreveport and this was Hubs last week of working before his retirement. Our twin daughters lived in OKC and  were able to call us within minutes to tell us they were safe. It was impossible to get calls through after that for several days due to overloaded phone circuits.
Can any of us ever forget this picture?

168 innocent people, men, women and children lost their lives that day and families were changed forever. Today that place where the Murrah Building stood, is now the Oklahoma National Memorial. Its a beautiful restful place memorializing  those lives  lost. The city has done a fantastic job of  building this Memorial as testimony of a senseless tragedy of man's inhumanity to man.

If you ever have a chance to visit the Museum and Memorial, please do so. It typifies that Hope can survive in the face of political terrorism and that no matter if we get knocked down, this country will rise up and survive.

Have a great day and remember those who lost loved ones 16 years ago today.

Dress Part II

Here we are once more waiting for word about the infamous dress. I really am about my wit's end or maybe I should say my nitwit's end. I have written emails, sent messages all week and still not a word about how to return this dress. I really don't know at this point what to do. Below is the dress.
I am about ready to call it a lost cause and just start over and chalk this up to a bad choice. I'm just sayin!!
Have a great week everyone, I intend to, myself!

What to do, what to do!

I don't have the best track record with my purchases online. I just see something online I like and I order it.  Recently, some of you may remember my beautiful laptop skin which I bought, and found out it was coming to me from Poland.

Well now I have "done it" again. I spent several days looking for a "Mother of the Groom" dress. I searched and searched and finally I discovered, a dress like I wanted. So, me, I ordered it.  Well, it was touch and go. After a couple of weeks, no dress, so I bombarded them with emails. Finally got a response after a month, that my dress was "on the way"! It came day before yesterday, by way of some city in China I can't begin to spell, then Shanghi, Anchorage, Louisville, and Oklahoma.

It is absolutely gorgeous, french seams, built-in bra , (much needed), completly lined, and wouldn't fit Barbie.  Cost $80.00 free shipping. For three days now, I've been trying to figure out how to do an exchange for a larger size.  As of today, after 3 or maybe 4 email, I am told it is in process.  What in the h--- does that mean. I don't usually dash, but time is drawing short and all I want to do is return this dress and get a "big" one.  Anyway, if anyone out there has had a similar situation, please tell me.

I'm too tired to even take the camera into the guest room and take a picture. I will take pics when all of this is settled.

 Hope your week is great.

Monday So Soon

Gosh, these Mondays roll around fast, but not nearly as fast as they did when I was working. I enjoy reading everyone's answers in Java's blog hop at http://nevergrowingold.blogspot.com/ . It's only five questions, so come on and join in the fun.

Questions

1. Who would be your dream celebrity date?
I think Jimmy Fallon has just the cutest personality, so guess an evening with him would be fun.

2. Do you have any food restrictions?
I don't really have any restrictions, but I do try to go slow with the desserts.

3. How much time do you take to get ready in the morning?
When I was working, it took me about 30 minutes, now retired, I just crawl out of bed.

4. Sausage or bacon?
Bacon, all the way.

5. Do you Google, Bing or Yahoo?
I Google!

This is a blog hop. Check a few of these blogs out and make some new friends.

Have a great week!

A Good Giveaway

I don't usually blog about giveaways, since I'm not very lucky at winning anything, however, this is one that I hope I win. Folks at our house love pizzia and alot of Friday nites, that composes our dinner.

This is what I'd like to win, since I'm sure it would enhance our pizzia experience.
So, if you're interested, hop over to this blog and have a go at winning

WEEK 32 QUESTIONS

1. Do you eat breakfast every morning?
I do now. When I was younger, no way. That was always a bone of contention with my Mother when I was growing up.
2. What is your favorite breakfast cereal?
Great Grains is my favorite, however, I've enjoyed adding a little Multi-Grain Cheerios.

3. What is your favorite brand and flavor of yogurt?
I don't really have a favorite flavor. I think all of the Dannon flavors are good.

Randomness

I've been taking pictures of nothing and everything. I still don't have my new camera figured out. I've printed the manual and have started to read it and try to figure things out bbbboooorrrriiiinnnggg! ( I'd much rather be reading a good book,)
Without further ado, hang onto something and come along on the ride to ??? with this post.

These are easter eggs that I embellished. I used the white plastic eggs and glued on the sequins, ribbons etc., with Elmer's Glue. I tried out several other glues, i.e., Monster Glue, Super Glue and Crazy Glue. None of these worked as well as just the plain old everyday Elmers. The pictures don't really do them justice, they're much prettier in person.

This is a wreath I made last week as well. I used all pokadot ribbon with a few solid color pieces, I used a straw wreath and wrapped it entirely in ribbon first. I started using floral pins to stick the five inch pieces of ribbon into the wreath, but I quickly discovered I could stick them in with regular colored straight pins, a much easier option.

Here are two shots of our back yard taken this past weekend. You can see how little green grass we have as yet. Lots of weeds, little grass.

This is my new computer. I had a skin for my old computer, so decided I needed one for the new laptop. Here's what I ended up with. I love it.

That's the skylight reflected in the last one. When the skin arrived, I was surprised to see that it came from Poland. I hadn't really paid any attention from where I ordered it. Pretty cool!

And, last but not least. On this pretty weekend day, Quinn got a haircut on the patio. He was none to pleased about having to stop playing, however, with the promise of an ice cream cone from Braums, he relented and got it cut.

That's enough randomness for one day.
Have a great week!
